Oil Heat in NJ- Your Clean, Green Energy Source

It’s true, today's oil heat is 95% cleaner than it was 25-30 years ago. Recent advancements in fuel technology, along with the introduction of bio-blends, have helped reduce emissions to near-zero levels. As part of our commitment to the environment at Lawes, our tank experts are pretty excited about the high efficiency oil heat in NJ and the Energy Star ratings of today’s oil-fired heating appliances. They’re not only your green (eco-friendly) choice, but they’ll help put more green (money) back in your pocket at the same time.

As your clean fuel option for the home or place of business, today’s oil heat in NJ has many eco-friendly benefits:
  • Oil heat is cleaner than ever. In fact, it is 95% cleaner than it was back in 1970. Over the past few decades, the sulfur content of heating oil has been reduced from over 1% to an average of .25%. The result? A healthier, cleaner, greener environment for all of us.
  • New residential oil heating systems don’t create soot, dirt, or odors in the home when properly maintained and adjusted.
  • Oil fuel systems are able to provide both heating and cooling as well as supply hot water. Additionally, they can be fitted with air-purification equipment and humidifiers adding additional health benefits to the home.
  • Oil heat is efficient and economical. Since oil burns hotter and longer than other fuel options, you to get more bang for your buck.
  • Efficiency ratings on new oil heat systems can reach as high as 87%. Translation? These high efficiency ratings result in bigger cost savings on your future fuel bills.
  • Oil heat can be blended with renewable biodiesel made from organic materials such as plants and food waste, known as Bioheat heating oil.

Oil Heat In the News: Biofuels Will Help Lower CO2, Temps

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released a global temperature analysis that shows 2016 is on track to be one of the hottest years on record (surpassing 2014 and 2015). Data showed that the average global temps in the first six months of the year were Celsius 1.3 degrees hotter than the pre-industrial era. These readings contrast sharply with the main aim of the Paris Agreement: to keep global temperature rise “well below” 2 degrees Celsius, with an aspirational target of 1.5 degrees Celsius, above pre-industrial levels this century.

“It is clear that changes to the global climate are occurring faster than was predicted when the timelines for the negotiations at COP21 were established,”
Baker added. “The potential for the increased use of biofuels in the global transport sector, using the existing fleet of cars and fuel infrastructure, represents exactly the kind of immediate action to achieve emissions reductions that is demanded by these changing circumstances.”
